Conclusion

If there was one aspect of the study that impacted my learning the most, it is the tremendous influence a collaborative classroom can have on the social learning for students. There is a  signaficant benefit that goes far beyond educational gains. With this type of experience, one can offer students the opportunity to virtually travel around the world to learn about different cultures, educational experiences, languages, and most importantly the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with many young people just like them.

In terms of educational practices, I have found it is important to have adequate professional development to effectively implement this kind project. The inadequate professional development, on the part of either teacher, can delay the progress or the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. Another important component that can contribute to the success of this type of project will be the quality of technology platforms in both countries. It was very surprising to see that language was not a barrier because of the available software that would help translation. It is also important to note that this type of distance learning can play a very significant role in solving real-life problems. The corona virus pandemic has brought to the forefront the need to have a quality and highly effective distance learning programs. It seems as though in China they were effective in implementing this type of essential learning. In the United States we are still struggling to some degree to initiate and maintain a significant effort to meet the instructional needs of our students. Perhaps there is something we could have learned from China in the educational use of technology during a crisis. Overall, this was a significant learning experience in my efforts to learn how important technology use in education is to improving teaching and learning. I learned how influential technology, on a global scale, is to a global economy, cultural exchange, and perhaps developing a global workforce. Finally, by providing students with this type of global collaborative learning experience, we can create a vehicle on how they can gain a greater perspective on how they can participate in changing the world for the better.

The investment in this type of global classroom can not only lead to a very engaging collaborative learning experience for students but it can also enhance our knowledge and understanding of how technology can be implemented in a totally different culture. This can give us a insight into the development of new initiatives, educational software, and application of learning principles to enhance students' proference. It would be to our advantage to explore new horizons by examining how progressive country like China uses innovative technology  to create a highly competitive students population that will be focus on being among the very best in a global society.
