Day 1 - Task 1 

Objective: Students would be able to ​

Solve  problems involving two-dimensional composite figures by identifying and applying appropriate area formulas.

  • Find your assigned group , introduce yourself to your team through your chosen platform (either Padlet or Google Classroom) and response to your team member. Your group login password can be found from your personal email. 

  • Watch the following three videos. 

  • Complete the worksheet (level 1 or level 2) with all work shown and sent its image to your group discussion platform and provide feedback to at least two of your group members. Due by midnight of today.

Day 2 - Task 2

Objective: Students would be able to ​

Identify the solid created by rotating a two -dimensional figure about a line.

  • Click " 3D interactive" to see how the polygon would look if it were spinning around an axis in 3-dimensional space.

  • Complete Rotation of 2-D figure Exploration worksheet and post it  (in picture file) to your group discussion platform and provide feedback to at least one of your group members Due by midnight Today.

  • Complete Online Self Skill Check, then screenshot your score report and turn it in through Google Classroom assignment folder. Due by midnight of Today.

Day 3 - Task 3

Objective: Students would be able to ​

  • Complete the Find Volume worksheet

Day 5 - Task 5

Objective: Students would be able to ​

Find surface area and volume of a composite figure .  

  • Watch the video of  surface area and volume of a composite shape.

  • ​Practice on the Composite Area. Show all your work while taking the practice test on page 2 and 5, and send your picture file of these two pages to Assignment Folder in Google Classroom. Due by tomorrow.

  • Complete the Composite Volume worksheets (Show all work) and post it on your group discussion platform and provide feedback to at least one of your group members. Due by midnight of today.

Day 6 - Project (18 days to complete)

Objective: Students would be able to: Construct a product of a geometric dome​; Create a visual representation of a design problem to demonstrate knowledge of the academic prompt.

"You are engineers working for Geo-Dome Greenhouse, Inc. The company is designing a geodesic greenhouse, to allow people to grow fresh vegetables, flowers, fruit and herbs year round, with minimal extra heating or cooling.  In order for the greenhouse to be the most energy-efficient and weather resistant structure, the dome must be rigid in shape, instead of using the traditional arches, and it must enclose the most volume for the minimum surface area.  Your job is to prepare a presentation for the design branch of Geo-Dome Greenhouse.  In addition to presenting facts about the geodesic greenhouse, include a design of the interior planting beds of the greenhouse that would be appealing to the consumer. Support all reasoning through sound mathematical evidence " (Project Search. (n.d.)).
